Local voices. Independent stories.

A chapter for authors.

We are pleased to stock books by local and independent authors. If you would like to see your work on our shelves, we would love to hear from you.

Let's talk about your book.

We work on a profit-share, sale-or-return basis. Get in touch so we can discuss your book, agree the share of each sale and arrange how many copies we can welcome into the shop.

Getting your books to us.

If you are local, you are very welcome to drop your books off in person once we have agreed the details. If you live further afield, you will need to post your books to us. Please contact us before sending or bringing stock, so we can make sure there is space ready for it.

We will endeavour to keep you informed about how your book is selling and let you know when we would like further copies. Please wait for our agreement before posting or dropping off any additional copies, so we can plan our stock and make the most of our limited shelf space.

A little room for understanding.

Our shop is small, and shelf space is precious. We cannot keep stock indefinitely, so there may come a time when we need to return unsold copies. Please do not take this personally: making room for different books is part of caring for a small, independent bookshop.

If we can no longer stock your books, we will get in touch to arrange their return and agree a collection date. If you cannot collect them yourself, you will need to arrange and pay for return postage or a courier collection. Thank you for helping us keep our shelves welcoming to as many authors as possible.
